Epoxy propane

Main purpose:

Epoxy propane is an important organic chemical raw material and the third largest propylene derivative besides polypropylene and acrylonitrile.

The biggest use of epoxy propane is to synthesize polyether polyols, which in turn make polyurethane. In the distribution of uses in the United States and Western Europe, this aspect accounts for more than 60% and 70%, respectively.

Epoxy propane can also be used to manufacture non-ionic surfactant and propylene alcohol, propylene glycol, alcohol ether, propylene carbonate, polypropylene amine, propionaldehyde, synthetic glycerin, organic acid, synthetic resin, foam plastic, plasticizer, emulsifier, wetting agent, detergent, bactericide, fumigant, etc. Fine chemicals derived from epoxy propane are widely used in almost all industrial sectors and daily life.

In addition, epoxy propane is also used in small amounts in industries such as coatings, brake fluids, antifreeze, jet engine fuel additives, floor polishing agents, printing inks, electronic chemicals, cleaning agents, mineral processing agents, leather processing, photosensitive liquids for PS printing, short acting plasticizers, dyes, non ionic surface active agents, oilfield demulsifiers, flame retardants, pesticide emulsifiers, and wetting agents.

Epoxy propane is also used in organic synthesis. Used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, and various resins, as a stabilizer for vinyl chloride resins and chlorinated solvents, and as an anti fading agent for nitrocellulose paint. It is also used in the manufacturing of surfactants (wetting agents, detergents, emulsifiers, etc.), as well as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, spices, and artificial leather. Used for preparing modified epoxy resin curing agents, synthetic resins, and active diluents as epoxy resin adhesives.

Finally, epoxy propane can also be used as a fungicide, fumigant, wetting agent, etc.
